Our History

Global Hands of Healing began in 1998 with a group of medical professionals and others began meeting at a Methodist church in Hurst, Texas.  The first medical mission trip took place in 1999.  Since then, over twenty trips have provided over three million dollars in current value of healthcare services including medical, dental, vision, and pharmacy services to impoverished communities in Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala and Panama.

Physicians, nurses, dentists, interpreters and numerous other volunteers have treated patients of all ages: newborn to ninety!  For many patients, this was their first encounter with modern medicine.  Often, a lifechanging diagnosis is made, and patients are treated with medications or referred to local specialists.   Our fully equipped vision department can determine prescriptions for distance and near glasses, and build them on site!

Our team members value their experience, many giving of their time again and again to travel with Global Hands of Healing.  “Lifechanging” applies to them, as well as the patients we treat!

Our Mission

Global Hands of Healing is committed to bringing healthcare to people in need around the globe. Volunteers and healthcare professionals travel hundreds of miles to provide care to people in impoverished cities and remote villages.
